MICHAEL WOKASCH SERVICES HELD SAT.
Funeral services for Michael Wokasch, 59, were held Saturday, March 30, at 11 am, from Furey Funeral Chapel in Frazee. Rev. A. M. Ramey officiated at the last rites.
Pallbearers were John Holzel, Robert Illg, Paul Joachim, Henry Winters, Eimer Mindermann, and Albert Frank. Buril [sp] will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, St. Paul, Minn.
Michael Wokasch died March 23 at his home in Evergreen township where he had lived the past nine months.
He was born in Evergreen township on February 4, 1909. He never married and was a veteran of World War II. As a career he taught school in Japan, Turkey, Newfoundland, and Labrador.
Survivors include four sisters, Theresa (Mrs. Anton Berger) of Hope, N.D.; Alvina of San Francisco, Cal.; Clara (Mrs. Alvin Mathews) of Bethany, Mo.; and Ameilia (Mrs. John Pauer) of Tucson, Ariz., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents (Franz and Louise Wokasch), two brothers and one sister. — Furey Funeral Home.
